Favorite things

Hey all!  Check out some of our favorite things that we got/gave for the holidays!

How cute is this memory game from Basic Grey?  30 pairs of adorable cardboard circle pieces that fit easily into a little cylinder case.  Easy for travel, storage, and it started a competitive game between my husband and I (spoiler, I lost).

What would my bookshelf be without a decorating book?  Lauren got me the Petersik’s latest release, Loveable, Liveable Home, full of house tours and ideas!  I can’t wait to get started!

And in the totally unnecessary and unexpected, yet super fun category, my best friend, Craig, bought me…a ukelele!  I’ve already learned a couple of songs, and the strings are much easier for me to get used to than guitar strings.  Plus, I can carry it around when we travel!

I began following the Humans of New York facebook page earlier this year, and I love it. Brandon Stanton lives in New York City and photographs people and their stories. Some are sad, compelling, and inspiring. Alison got me his two books! They make for great coffee table books.

My mother-in-law bought Shawn and I a set of Cuddle Duds fleece sheets both last year and this year and they are AMAZING. I’m telling you, I never want to leave my bed. They are so extremely soft and are different from those regular flannel sheets. They are a lightweight fleece that keep me warm, but not too hot. I got them in this cute snowflake pattern this year.

Lastly, one of my favorite gifts was a box full of salt and pepper shakers from my mom! One of our very first posts last January on this blog was the three of us shopping at an antique mall, where I found a couple of cute salt and pepper shakers I liked. My mom went back to the stores and bought them for me! Thanks for reading the blog, Mom!
